Bramble joins Toon army

TITUS BRAMBLE has finally completed his transfer from Ipswich Town to Newcastle United after signing a five-year contract.

The signing is manager Sir Bobby Robson's second major signing of the summer following the arrival of £8.5 million Hugo Viana from Sporting Lisbon.

Bramble could not hide his disappointment after leaving Ipswich Town, but was delighted to be moving to the North East.

"Whilst I am sad to be leaving Ipswich Town, I am thrilled to be joining such a massive club as Newcastle United," said Bramble to nufc.co.uk.

"There are some terrific players here, a tremendous manager and I cannot wait for the new season to start."

Robson is pleased to have acquired the Under-21 international saying: "I am delighted that Titus will be part of our squad next season.

"He is a powerfully built lad who has the potential to achieve great things in the game."
