Kim offered Spanish move

SOUTH KOREAN World Cup star Kim Nam-il could be set for a move to Spain's La Liga before the end of the year, according to reports from Asia.

Kim and his South Korean team-mates were the darlings of the World Cup finals in the Far East, as Guus Hiddink's side reached the semi finals for the first time in their footballing history.

The 25-year-old, who plays for Korean K-League side Chun-Nam Dragons, is reported to have received offers from Primera Liga newcomers Atletico Madrid and Alaves.

Kim admitted that he has received two offers from Spain but would not say who the clubs were.

Kim said: "I don't want to speculate about which teams are interested. I have some people looking in to it and I expect to move over there at the end of the year.

"I would be very interested in moving to Spain and talks are underway."

The hard-working midfield player has also been linked with a move to Belgian giants Anderlecht, where the Brussels club's coaching staff naming Kim as South Korea's best player during last month's finals.

Kim has been part of the international set-up since playing for his country at the Under-20 level in the 1997 Worlds Youth Championships.
