Lazio eye Mexican ace Marquez
The Mexican centre-half shone in the World Cup, particularly in the group win over Italy, and Lazio are at the front of the queue for the services of the 23-year-old.
Marquez moved to The Principality from Atlas in the summer of 1999 and has been one of the first names on the team-sheet at the Stade Louis II.
Despite well-publicised cash flow problems, the Roman club are still looking to bring some fresh faces to the Stadio Olimpico with Rivaldo and Marquez on the summer shopping list.
Monaco will be reluctant to sell their defensive stalwart but the club's disappointing 15th place finish in Le Championnat and a lack of European football could see a number of top players such as Marquez and Marcelo Gallardo seek pastures new.
