Rodrigo not a free agent - Botafogo
BOTAFOGO have stated that striker Rodrigo is not a free agent, as he and his father have been claiming.
The Brazilian is currently training with Everton, but is also wanted by both Middlesbrough and Sunderland.
However, the 26-year-old and his father, who is also acting as his agent, have been telling English clubs that he is a free agent.
This is something that Botafogo are refuting and they are using English agent Gino Culbertson to emphasise that Rodrigo is still contracted to them.
"Botafogo are very unhappy with Rodrigo and his father," Culbertson explained to planetfootball.com.
"They have always stated to all interested parties that they need to deal with me about any potential transfer to England and they will continue to do so.
"They have issued documentation from the Brazilian Football Federation confirming that he is still their player."
It now remains to be seen what will happen with Rodrigo, as the initial English interest was based on the premise that he was a free agent.
