Cisse wants Boro switch
The 24-year-old is being tracked by a string of Premiership clubs but his ideal destination would be The Riverside.
Cisse is prepared to undertake a three-day trial on Teesside to prove his worth to Boro boss Steve McClaren.
The Frenchman is rated in the £2.5 million category and will happily showcase his talents on trial to persuade McClaren to fork out the fee.
Bolton, Everton and top flight new boys Birmingham have all been keen on Cisse but the midfielder is adamant he wants to join Middlesbrough, and is due in Teesside on Wednesday to meet up with the rest of the squad.
"This is the move I want," said Cisse. "I feel Middlesbrough is right for me.
"I want to play for Mr McClaren."
Middlesbrough are scouring for fresh legs in the engine room following the departure of midfield veterans Paul Ince and Robbie Mustoe.
Cisse could slot into the holding role to enable Boro's more creative forces to operate to maximum effect, particularly if they can wrap up their swoop for Juninho.
