Chelsea hand Keenan four-year deal

The 19-year-old made his first team debut last season and has shown manager Claudio Ranieri enough to be handed a lengthy contract with the club.

Keenan was understandably delighted at the show of faith in his ability and told Chelsea TV that he was hopeful of getting more first team action next season.

"I'm delighted," said Keenan. "Especially as I had two years on my existing deal.

"I'm quit optimistic about this season, there haven't been many new signings over the summer so hopefully it will give the likes of myself Robert Huth and Carlton Cole chances to play."
