Nesta: My future's in Lazio's hands

ALESSANDRO NESTA has stated that he would like to stay with Lazio, but it is down to the club whether he stays in Rome.

Nesta has revealed he has spoken to club President Sergio Cragnotti and that there is still a chance the Italian international could yet be sold, with Internazionale reportedly interested in the star.

The 26-year-old has been a constant source of speculation throughout the summer, with Read Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United all keen on landing the world-class defender.

"It would appeal to me to remain, but it's down to the club," said Nesta at a press conference. "I spoke the President (Cragnotti) the other day regarding my future.

"Cragnotti has said to me that if necessary I would be sold. I have no preconceptions about my destination, whether it be Italy or a foreign destination.

Nesta, who wears shirt number 13 for Lazio, surprisingly stated that Internazionale have yet to allocate a player the unlucky number after announcing their squad numbers.

"Inter have yet to assign a player their number 13 shirt. It would be a coincidence, for sure, if I was allocated that shirt."
