Hermann linked with Premiership return
The Portman Road club are looking to reshape their squad after their relegation from The Premiership last season and they may be prepared to sacrifice the defender as a cost-cutting measure.
Town have already loaned out Matteo Sereni to Brescia and sold Titus Bramble to Newcastle as ways of reducing their costs and Hreidarsson could follow them out of the exit door at the Suffolk outfit.
The player's agent Peter Harrison claims that a number of Premiership sides are interested in signing the Icelandic international.
"A few clubs like Herman, and it's no secret Ipswich need money. We're awaiting developments," said Harrison.
"He's proved himself in The Premiership and, as there is a shortage of left-footed players, he's one of a few who can play either left back and left centre back."
Should one of the interested sides make an offer for the former Wimbledon ace it is thought he will swap the chance of First Division football for the challenge of The Premiership.
