Udinese swoop for Jancker

SERIE A side Udinese have agreed a deal for German international striker Carsten Jancker from Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich.

The giant 28-year-old hit-man has penned a four-year deal at Stadio Friuli and will travel to Udine to complete a medical on Wednesday.

Jancker has been brought in to replace Roberto Sosa who left the Italian side to join Boca Juniors.

Roberto Muzzi could now also leave Bianconeri as Udinese look to rebuild their attacking line up ahead of the new season.

Coach Luciano Spalletti has also said he was interested in another German international, Oliver Bierhoff, and he could yet join his countryman in Italy.

Jancker will be hoping to kick-start his career in Italy after a dreadful season in Germany when he failed to notch a single league goal for Bayern.
