Ajax land Boukhari

AJAX have completed the surprise capture of Nourdin Boukhari from financially stricken Sparta.

The Rotterdam club were relegated from the Eredivisie last term, and are in severe financial strife, prompting them to make a number of their star players available.

Ajax were rumoured to have ended their summer spending with the capture of Victor Sikora from Vitesse Arnhem, with coach Ronald Koeman revealing he would now concentrate on trimming his squad.

However, the availability of the Moroccan international proved too tempting to resist, and Koeman quickly wrapped up the capture on Tuesday, with the winger signing a four-year contract.

Along with Sikora, Koeman has the flanks of his ArenA squad well covered, meaning their should be no shortage of supply for the likes of Mido and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The arrival of Boukhari could hammer a further nail into the respective coffins of Cedric van der Gun, Pius Ikedia and Tim de Cler, who are expected to be the victims of the Ajax cost cutting.
