Sereni hurt in car crash

IPSWICH TOWN'S Matteo Sereni has been slightly injured in a car crash, along with Brescia team-mate Igli Tare.

Sereni has joined Brescia on a season's loan after Town were relegated from The Premiership.

However the goalkeeper has injured his right hip in the accident - which took place in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Both Sereni and Tare, who suffered mild concussion and a sprained wrist, were taken to hospital although the latter was quickly discharged.

Sereni was a passenger in the car, and was later told that he had not fractured any bones in the accident - in which he was a passenger.

However, the painful strain to his joint is likely to keep him out for at least six weeks, meaning the goalkeeper faces a battle to get back to full fitness for the Serie A season.
