Reggina delight at Nakamura

REGGINA coach Bortolo Mutti believes that the club have landed a major coup in signing Japanese World Cup star Syunshuke Nakamura.

Nakamura is one of the best up-and-coming Japanese players, and will be hoping to mimic the impact that compatriot Hidetoshi Nakata had on first arriving in Serie A.

"He is a very alert and intelligent boy who has come a long way in a very short time," said Mutti.

"On the pitch he is technically superb but, above all, he is very steady - he gives little away.

"If he continues to improve the way he has been then he will become a very important footballer."

Mutti also insisted that people should not expect a Chievo-like fairytale.

"We want to play good football, because pure football is beautiful - a form of poetry," adds Mutti.

"But in the championship we must not lose sight of the fact that the main objective is to get the points we need to stay up."
