Roux snipes at Hammers move

AUXERRE boss Guy Roux has cheekily hit out at youngster Youssef Sofiane's close season transfer to West Ham.

The experienced coach perhaps felt the young forward was better suited furthering his development in France before heading for the bright lights of London.

"I stop to mention the name of Youssef Sofiane among the important departures," he stated.

"He only played four matches with our third team.

"He will polish the shoes at West Ham, it's good for him."

Roux also revealed that Roma are officially in the hunt for much-coveted striker Djibril Cisse, who is staying with Auxerre for at least another season.

The exciting French international has revealed a desire to play in England or for Marseille in the future.

"Among the propositions, there was one from Roma," declared Roux.

"But they were close to being shut out of the Italian league.

"I am not afraid of losing Djibril.

"Anyway, he will play at least the whole of the present season here.

"The market? You already notice it doesn't exist here in Auxerre."
