Robins list Razor

NEIL RUDDOCK has been placed on the transfer list by Second Division outfit Swindon Town.

The former Liverpool and Tottenham defender has been told he can leave the County Ground for being overweight.

The 33-year-old has been told by Robins boss Andy King that he is not fit enough to play for the club.

Ruddock, who was appointed Swindon's player-coach at the start of last season, has not played for the side since last December after injuring his knee in training.

Swindon have also made the decision so as to take Ruddock off the wage bill and free up funds for moves in the transfer market.

"I told Neil that he would not play for this club again unless he lost weight," said King.

"I made it quite clear that I wouldn't play him unless he came back fit from his summer holidays.

"There is no reason why professional footballers should be coming back carrying excess weight and, let's face it Neil has more to lose than anyone else."

Meanwhile, Swindon are looking at former England international Andy Sinton.

The former Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday winger is available on a free transfer and looking for a new club.

Sinton recently had a trial at Walsall and he will hope to impress enough to win a deal at The County Ground.
