Mido attracting Juve interest
ITALIAN champions Juventus have been keeping an eye on Ajax's Egyptian international striker Ahmed Hossam.
The 19-year-old goal-scorer, nicknamed 'Mido', has attracted the interest of a number of clubs since his £3 million move to the Amsterdam ArenA club from Belgian side Ghent in June 2001.
Juve are showing a particular interest in the North African youngster, who scored 12 goals in 24 appearances for Ronald Koeman's side last season.
The Stadio Delle Alpi outfit are keen to add another striker to their line-up as cover for main front runners David Trezeguet, Marcelo Salas and Alessandro Del Piero.
It remains to be seen if Hossam will be made available by Ajax, since the Dutch champions decided to allow Greek international Nikos Machlas the opportunity to find another club following a recent bust up with Koeman.
