Hull and Tykes in loan swap deal

HULL CITY have signed Carl Regan on a month's loan from Barnsley, whilst Tigers midfielder Andy Holt has moved in the opposite direction as part of the deal.

Regan (pictured), who moved to South Yorkshire on a free transfer from Everton in 2000, has played nearly 50 games fro The Tykes but he has now found himself behind the likes of Lee Crooks, David Mulligan and Neil Austin in the pecking order.

24-year-old Holt, who plays anywhere on the left, has been allowed to move to Oakwell as part of the deal - also for a month.

Reds manager Steve Parkin was happy to have brought Holt into his squad.

"Andy can play anywhere down the left and is a big strong player," said Parkin.

"He has good size and has got a great left foot.

"He has been out of favour since Jan Molby took over at Hull and when we found out that they were interested in Carl (Regan) we let then knew that we were interested in Andy."

If the deal works out for both players then a permanent swap deal could very well be on the cards.
