Bergkamp to end career with Gunners
The Dutchman has a year to run on his current deal at Highbury and looked to be back to his brilliant best when helping Arsene Wenger's men to the double last season.
The 32-year-old says he is not looking for a fresh challenge abroad so has settled on ending his paying days in North London.
"I can see myself finishing my career at Arsenal," said Bergkamp. "The way I feel now I don't see myself going for another challenge in a foreign country.
"I'm not sure about going back to Holland to play there, so the only option is to finish my career here. When that will be I don't know."
Bergkamp says that he will consider retiring if he is not able to keep up his standard of play during what will be a tough season for Arsenal.
"I've got one more year left on my contract, so I'll see what happens during the season.
"It's a long season. You never know how I'll feel in February or March.
"The main thing is to maintain your standards, if you feel that things are dropping slightly I wouldn't want to hold on and live for just a few moments."
