Quattrocchi ready for Wolfsburg experience

PABLO QUATTROCHI ended his Estudiantes de La Plata career on a low, following a 3-1 loss to Boca Juniors on Sunday, but the Argentine defender is now free to go to Wolfsburg.

Quattrochi has added a second 't' to his name in the process to get his EU passport and having played his final match for Estudiantes, will now complete his $1 million move.

An unusual part of the deal is that Volkswagen will sponsor Estudiantes' shirts, as well as Wolfsburg's.

Having joined Estudiantes from Quilmes Athletic Club in 1996, Quattrochi will now start his European adventure with Wolfsburg, although he will have fellow countryman Diego Klimowicz to help him settle in.

He said: "I have signed a good contract that will make me calm financially, it will especially help my family who are going through some problems like many other families in Argentina.

"I have a great expectation in getting to know the club, the coach, my team-mates and the city because Diego Klimowicz has told me that everything is very well organised and you only have to think about training and playing, you don't have to worry about other things like if you are going to get paid at the end of the month and all that kind of stuff.

"On the other hand, I think that this experience will also be important for me in my professional career because I imagine that they have different ways of working, so I suppose that I will improve as a professional.

"I also want to thank Estudiantes, who have let me go even when the championship has already started, but I am sure that they will have another player that will replace me very soon because Estudiantes have a very good squad."
