Waalwijk win but Feyenoord held
Gerard de Nooijer put Heerenveen a goal up after just five minutes but Yuri Cornelisse equalised just before the hour and Rick Hoogendorp (pictured) got the winner 21 minutes from time.
Feyenoord twice took the lead at Roda but were pegged back both times by a determined home team.
Patrick Paauwe got the opener on 14, but Tom Soetaers equalised eight minutes from the break. Pierre van Hooijdonk (82) looked to have given Feyenoord all three points as he put the visitors back in front only for Soetaers to level matters just three minutes from the end with his second of the game.
PSV beat Groningen 1-0, with the visitors unlucky not to hold out for a point as Johann Vogel got the only goal of the game eight minutes from time.
De Graafschap impressed with a 2-0 home win over Roosendaal. Peter Van Vossen set them on the way with a strike in the 22nd minute and Ruslan Valeev (71) tied up the points.
FC Zwolle and Excelsior battled out a 1-1 draw between two of the promoted teams from last season.
Richard Roelofsen put Zwolle a goal up in the ninth minute but they threw away the chance of victory in the last minute as Said Boutahar hit a dramatic leveller.
