Bluebirds let Evans go
The former Leeds United player mutually agreed to terminate his contract with the Ninian Park side after being transfer-listed by The Bluebirds back in September 2001.
The 21-year-old was close to a loan move with now Division Three side Boston United went it was fighting for promotion from the Conference last term but Evans ended up staying with the Welsh club in the end.
Since joining Cardiff in August 2000, Evans has been out-of-favour with The Bluebirds and the youngster has decided to find himself a side willing to give him a first team chance.
With Lennie Lawrence's side carrying a number of defenders on its books this season, Evans decision to leave may have been a wise one for his career.
