Black Cats youngster joins Rovers
SUNDERLAND'S 19-year-old Scottish reserve striker Dene Shields has been loaned out to Conference leaders Doncaster Rovers.
The diminutive striker joined the club for £70,000 during 2000 from Scottish side Raith Rovers.
However, he has yet to make any appearances for Sunderland's first team and Peter Reid (pictured) has loaned out the youngster to gain experience.
Shields spent three months of last season on loan to Scarborough, where he scored two goals in nine league games, and has already made one appearance for Doncaster as a substitute in their 2-1 win against Northwich Victoria on Saturday.
