Zola's career hint

GIANFRANCO ZOLA has hinted that he may prolong his career beyond the boundaries of this season, if his current run of fine form continues.

The diminutive Italian forward has had a fine start to the current Premiership campaign, scoring two goals and creating havoc for opposing defenders.

The 36-year-old is in the final year of his Stamford Bridge contract, and said over the summer that he was leaning towards making this his last season in the professional ranks.

His form in pre-season prompted Blues boss Claudio Ranieri to install him in the starting XI, and Zola has not let his coach down.

Zola has now revealed that he is thinking about playing another season.

He said "My philosophy is not to think about the long-term, I am just living the moment.

"We will see how this season goes, then a decision will be made."

The former Napoli man`s current run of form clearly pleases him, as he added: "It amuses me that I can run more than the younger players.

"The hard work is less painful if you feel good."
