Crespo out to fill Ronaldo's boots
Inter moved to sign Crespo from Lazio to replace Real Madrid-bound Ronaldo on Saturday after a transfer merry-go-round just before the deadline.
Crespo has been handed Ronaldo's number nine shirt at Inter and he admitted that although he is not the same type of player as the Brazilian, he hopes to be a success with the neroazzurri.
"Ronaldo is a brilliant player and a phenomenon with whom I wouldn't dare to be compared to, but I will try to do as good things as he did and to be useful for the team," said Crespo.
"I will be Crespo and try to do everything in the same way I have done them during the last six years in Italy.
"I have been told that that number nine shirt is very heavy and that I will have a big responsibility for wearing it.
"I am very happy for this new adventure and I am very pleased to have the chance to play with (Christian) Vieri and I hope that we can win the Scudetto and the Champions League.
"I am calm because I have some friends in Inter, some from Argentina's national team and some others like (Fabio) Cannavaro and (Michele) Serena that will help me to get adapted to my new team and the city as soon as possible."
