Sukur left feeling frustrated
The Turkish striker stated all summer that he had a flood of teams battling for his services, but a concrete offer failed to materialise.
The former Internazionale man was particularly upset about failing to secure a return to the club where he made his name, Galatasaray.
"I thought that I could play at Galatasaray, but they do not want me," he said. "I'm very sad about that.
"But I have no problem with Fatih Terim (Galatasaray coach)," he added to CNN-TURK.
Sukur will now have to stay and fight for a place with Parma, as national coach Senol Gunes has warned him that he must be playing regularly to earn a spot in the Turkish squad.
"Hakan has to play football if he wants to play with the national team," commented Gunes.
