Keane rampage to continue
Just days after the Irishman was hit by a double Football Association charge for comments made by him in his upcoming autobiography, regarding his infamous tackle on Alf Inge Haaland, Keane has admitted more players could come under fire.
The 31-year-old was sent off last Saturday by referee Uriah Rennie for deliberately elbowing Sunderland's Jason McAteer in United's 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light.
It was the former Forest star's last game for The Red Devils for a while, as Keane has now had an operation to cure his hip injury and is out for around six weeks.
"Yeah, and there's plenty more to be settled," said Keane, when asked if professionals do in fact target players from another team.
Keane has also stated that when he seriously injured himself against Leeds United at Elland Road - Haaland believed he was faking it.
"When I did my cruciate, he (Haaland) came up to me when I was lying on the floor, saying 'Get up, you're not even injured'!
"Do you think he didn't cross my mind every day in the gym when I was getting my fitness back?"
As if to ask the FA to extend his impending suspension even further, Keane has also explained that he intentionally stamped on England international defender Gareth Southgate, back in 1995 against Crystal Palace in their cup semi-final.
"He shouldn't be lying on the floor," added Keane. "Defenders shouldn't be on their backsides. I felt that he got in the way."
With personal vendettas now seemingly on the rise in English football, following Keane's comments, the FA could well make an example of the star and throw the book at the player, who has courted controversy throughout his career.
