Departing Berg denies Souey slam
The Norwegian centre back has been largely frozen out at Ewood Park this term, and News of the World quoted the former Manchester United man slating Souness for deliberately snubbing him.
However, Berg stresses he never conducted an interview with the best-selling newspaper.
"That's foolish," he slammed. "I have never called Souness a 'coward'.
"I have never spoken with anyone in News of the World about Souness.
"You all know how the English papers are."
Yet the 33-year-old admits he is ready to call time on his ten-year career in England at the end of the current season.
"The situation at Blackburn is the same," he told VG. "Nothing has changed.
"I will sign for either Lillestrom or Valerenga if they need a central defender."
Berg has played for both clubs, and Lillestrom seem keener to snap him up.
"Henning is a class player and, if he is still hungry, he can make us better," admitted Lillestrom's Bjarne Sognnaes.
Valerenga boss Kjetil Rekdal was more cautious, stating: "I don't doubt Henning's qualities but, whether he is motivated or if we have the economic capacity to get him, I don't know yet."
