Religion rules Santander duo out
THE Jewish celebration of the Yom Kipur has severely disrupted Racing Santander's preparations ahead of their match against Alaves on Sunday.
Due to the holiday, Ilan Bachar and Yossi Benyoun have both been ruled out of the battle between the winless teams.
The celebration has left Racing coach Manuel Preciado with a massive headache, ahead of the tie, following their opening day defeat at the hands of Valladolid.
The Yom Kipur, which prohibits Hebrews from working during the holiday, is the most sacred day of the Jewish religion.
Rayo Vallecano meanwhile, will be able to field their new Israeli signing Idan Tal, as their match this weekend is on Saturday against Malaga.
