Bayern secure derby win

BAYERN won the battle of Munich 3-1 but had to comeback from a goal behind against their city neighbours 1860 whilst elsewhere Ailton scored a hat-trick against Nurnberg in Werder Bremen's 4-1 win during Tuesday night's Bundesliga action.

Martin Max put 1860 infront on the quarter of an hour mark, yet they were pegged back by Hasan Salihamidzic's effort four minutes from the break.

The second half was a different affair as Bayern built upon their equaliser and secured victory with goals from Claudio Pizarro (53) and Giovane Elber (76).

In Bremen Ailton gave the home side the lead on the half hour, before Sasa Ciric equalised ten minutes into the second half.

Johan Micoud restored Werder's advantage just on the hour mark, before two strikes from Ailton (66, 79) completed his hat-trick and secured an emphatic victory.

Borussia Monchengladbach travelled to Berlin and came away with all three points in a 2-1 win.

Markus Munch converted a tenth minute penalty and when Peter van Houdt made it two in the 58th minute it looked all over.

However, Michael Preetz's strike ten minutes from time ensured a few nervous moments for the visitors.

In the other game Bochum and Borussia Dortmund played out a 0-0 draw.
