Manchester United 0 Bolton 1

BOLTON WANDERERS appear to have the Indian sign over Manchester United at Old Trafford, as Kevin Nolan`s late goal sank The Red Devils.

The Trotters took all the points from the Theatre of Dreams last term, and their grit and determination was rewarded again with a maximum haul.

Nolan pounced on a rare defensive error by England captain David Beckham to fire the ball home, but keeper Fabien Barthez may well think he should have kept the effort out.

As you would expect, the home side dominated but could not find a way past Jussi Jaaskelainen.

The Finnish keeper made an outstanding double save to thwart Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Nicky Butt, moments after Nolan`s goal.

Solskjaer was denied earlier in the match, as Jaaskelainen tipped over the Norwegian`s headed effort.

The one time the Finn was beaten, the crossbar came to his rescue as Ruud van Nistelrooy`s thumping effort smacked the underside of the bar and bounced to safety.

Bolton held firm to stun Old Trafford, and leave Sir Alex Ferguson reflecting on how his side surrendered home points.
