Zola hoping to continue purple patch
The pint-sized Italian, 36, has bagged four goals in the last five games for the Londoners and is happy with the way things have been going.
"Things may change so, for the moment, I am not too bothered about that (retirement). I am more concerned about my fitness and the way I am playing," said Zola.
"And then when the moment comes, I will make the decision. But right now the important thing is for me to keep performing well.
"I don't want to disappoint the team in what could be my last year and that is why I am doing my best and working my socks off for them."
Zola arrived at Stamford Bridge from Parma in November 1996 and his dazzling skills have made him a firm favourite with the Blues fans, and manager Claudio Ranieri backed his compatriot to carry on his recent rich vein of form.
"He has the mentality, passion and the heart to carry on playing well," said Ranieri.
