Rodrigo injury blow

EVERTON'S Brazilian star Juliano Rodrigo could set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, after he suffered a suspected cruciate ligament injury on Friday.

Rodrigo suffered the injury during a routine session at their Bellefield training complex.

The 26-year-old is yet to start a game for The Toffees, but he has featured four times as a substitute and was expected to play a major role during the current campaign.

Everton are now awaiting news to hear what the extent of the injury is, but early reports from Merseyside are not good.

The news will be a major blow to manager David Moyes, who had high hopes for the attacking midfielder.

Rodrigo moved to Goodison Park at the start of the season on loan from Botafogo, with a view to a permanent £3 million move.

However, his future in England could now be in doubt after his potential season-ending injury.

If Rodrigo has suffered cruciate ligament damage, then he can expect to be on the sidelines for at least four to six months.
