Sorensen to leave BVB

NORWEGIAN winger Jan Derek Sorensen is ready to quit Borussia Dortmund during the winter transfer window.

Sorensen has failed to figure for Dortmund this term and has decided to call time on his career at Westfalenstadion.

The former Rosenborg ace is now waiting for January when he can move on after being told by Dortmund coach Matthias Sammer to find pastures new.

Though he is contracted to BVB until the summer of 2004, Sorensen is desperate for first team football and there has been interest from other Bundesliga outfits along with clubs in Holland and his homeland.

"Jan Derek has a good financial package but wants to play football," his agent Erik Soler told NTB.

"He has only got to keep his head high and put in a good effort during training.

"He will not take a 90 percent reduction in wages. I can't rule out a Rosenborg comeback.

"What happens in the next transfer window is impossible to say."
