Weatherstone strike downs Swans

BOSTON UNITED moved off the bottom of Division Three on Wednesday, dumping Swansea in their place following a 1-0 home win over The Swans.

The victory comes as Boston player/manager Neil Thompson dropped himself and that move appeared to work the oracle as they ran out winners.

Simon Weatherstone got the only goal of the game in the 36th minute when the home captain Ray Warburton lobbed a free-kick into the area and the striker was on hand to turn home a stunning volley.

With Boston having conceded eight goals in their two previous home games, a clean sheet is most welcome for the league newcomers.

The home side's second victory in the league was complete in the 78th minute when the visitors' Jamie Wood was sent off and there was no way back for Swansea, who will hope the impending arrival of Brian Flynn will have the desired effect.
