Gerrard - Injuries are behind me

LIVERPOOL star Steven Gerrard believes his injury problems are now a thing of the past.

The England international is confident that he has finally overcome the niggling injuries which have blighted his career.

The influential midfielder has played in all of Liverpool's games this season having missed the World Cup to undergo an operation to cure his long-standing groin problem.

Gerard is sure as a result of having the surgery he is ready to start more matches this season for The Reds as they battle for honours at home and abroad.

"I feel really good fitness wise now and think I can play in as many games as I'm faced with," said Gerrard.

"The more games I play, the better it will get. I definitely believe I will play more games this season than I have in my previous three.

"Sometimes I've had a bit of a cob on with certain people when they've labelled me injury prone. I've never been injury prone.

"I've known myself I've only had a problem with one injury and that was the groin. I hope that's now been put behind me because I have no worries about playing back to back games any more."
