Doni offered new deal

ATALANTA have offered a new contract to star midfielder Cristiano Doni.

The Italian international has 21 months left on his current deal and the Bergamo outfit are looking to extend this by a further two years.

"Cristiano Doni's contract with Atlanta expires in June 2004 and we have decided to offer him a new two-year deal," said Atalanta president Ivan Ruggeri.

"He has not yet put pen to paper, but his signature is a minor detail. He will make it official soon."

The 29-year-old, who had been linked with a summer move to Juventus, is in his fourth season with Atalanta.
