Badou wants Hadji back
NEW MOROCCAN coach Ezaki Badou has confirmed to planetfootball that he intends to meet with Aston Villa star Mustapha Hadji to try and persuade him to return to the national fold.
The 30-year-old has not been involved with Morocco for over a year after a clash with former coach Humberto Cuelho.
Badou, who has signed a two-year deal with Morocco, wants to bring Hadji back into the national squad.
"Hadji is a player who fits in my ideas," Badou told planetfootball.
"He would help much the selection problems we are facing ahead of the African Cup of Nations in 2004, which is our prime objective."
Badou will also look to hand recalls to Rachid Rokki and Abdelilah Saber, as his side look to make the 2004 ACN.
However, Badou will not force his European-based players to travel and will try and nurture the country's young domestic talent.
