Maldini: Lazio caused us problems

IT was a classic game of two halves in Rome on Saturday as Lazio and Milan played out a 1-1 draw.

Milan captain Paolo Maldini admitted that Lazio caused them plenty of problems, but in the end a draw was a fairly creditable result.

Maldini said: "Lazio gave us many difficulties and from the beginning of the season they've played well.

"For us it's a good point, also because you've got to consider we have played every three days.

"For him (Nesta) it was undoubtedly a night full of emotions, like if I left Milan and I returned to the San Siro: it was understandable his nervousness."

Roberto Mancini (pictured) said: "We had a really big match, also we conceded their goal on their first cross.

"I'm very happy.  At the end of match I decided to field Corradi, because I thought there was the possibility to win.  We drew, but we'll win next time."

Goalscorer Claudio Lopez added: "I feel better than my last two seasons here and I hope to continue in this way.

"We know what we have to do, that's to say play well to find the points we need."
