Bergkamp retirement played down
ARSENAL insist talk of influential Dutchman Dennis Bergkamp's retirement at the end of the season is premature.
Bergkamp hinted he would hang up his boots when his Gunners contract expires in May.
The 33-year-old playmaker feels the conclusion of this campaign will be the right time to return to his homeland.
But The Gunners have issued a statement saying Bergkamp has not definitely decided he will quit football at the end of the season.
"Reports suggesting that Dennis Bergkamp will retire at the end of the season are somewhat premature.
"Dennis would like to stress that he has not actually stated that he will be retiring at the end of this season."
