Vicente salutes Valencia mentality

VALENCIA'S 6-2 mauling of FC Basel in the Champions League has sent the expectation level soaring through the roof of the Mestalla Stadium and key midfielder Vicente believes the side has developed a winning mentality.

After lifting the Spanish championship last season Valencia have continued their ascendancy with a mesmerising start at home and abroad.

"The most important thing is that we are enjoying our football," said Spanish international Vicente.

"That can be the difference with the greatest respect to our rivals. In a month we have demonstrated in La Liga and Europe how difficult it will be to beat us.

"We are the champions and we have that (winning) mentality. That is the reason our rivals do not worry us."

The Ches are top of the Spanish league with 10 points from four games and are also cruising at the summit of their opening Champions League group.

Coach Rafael Benitez has told his team not to get complacent ass they have yet to win any silverware this term but it has not stopped many people tipping them to lift the Champions League and La Liga titles at the end of the season.
