Boston keen on Battersby
Battersby is well down the pecking order at Sincil Bank and is reportedly on the brink of settling his contract with The Red Imps, which would pave the way for a move to Boston.
He has been training with The Pilgrims, and has certainly impressed acting boss Thompson.
Thompson, who is at the helm while Steve Evans is suspended, said: "Tony is a good player and he is the sort of person we are looking for because he is proven at this level.
"We've had a look at him and he has fitted in well with all the other lads and I think he could do a job for us.
"He has looked good in training and done everything that has been asked of him so it is looking promising at this stage.
"I've been saying for a long time that we need a striker, and Tony could be the person to fill that position - but his name is not on the dotted line just yet."
Lincoln are keen to offload Battersby, as he is one of the highest earners at the club and his exit will free up valuable funds.
