Rangers will have to pay for Pete

RANGERS know they will have to pay top dollar in order to keep Danish international Peter Lovenkrands at the club, after the star revealed he will not budge on his demands.

The 22-year-old is on a reported £10,000-a-week at Ibrox, but wants a vastly improved offer in order to remain with the Glasgow giants.

Although The Gers want to keep the former AB Copenhagen star at the club, they may opt to cash in on the Scandinavian.

"I feel I deserve to get a higher salary than I'm currently on now," said Lovenkrands to Ritzau.

"I'm certainly happy to stay at the club, but I will not compromise my demands in order to stay.

"They should really be able to give me something of the best."

Italian Serie A side Internazionale are keeping a close eye on the Dane's situation, and could make a big-money offer for the wide-man should he fail to agree a new contract.
