Tofting back at Bolton
The Danish hard-man was handed the punishment in Denmark on Tuesday following a scuffle at a Copenhagen restaurant in June.
Tofting is now considering whether to appeal against the decision but will first discuss his future with Trotters boss Sam Allardyce.
The former Hamburg midfielder could well be sacked by the club after his sentence, although both the player and his agent have insisted that Bolton will stand behind him.
Tofting himself said that he thought the punishment was harsh, although Denmark have recently introduced tougher new laws to crack down on violence.
"It seems harsh, much more so than I expected, and I find it very hard to accept," said Tofting on leaving the court.
"There are a lot of people I want to talk to before deciding what to do next. I have got two weeks to make my mind up, and I will give the matter a lot of thought."
He was also ordered to pay £400 compensation to the chef injured during the incident.
It is not the first time the former Hell's Angel has been in trouble following the 20-month suspended sentenced he received three years ago for a similar incident in Copenhagen.
