Lizarazu keeping options open
The French international says that he has had several offers from abroad, including Manchester United at the start of last season.
Lizarazu says that his relation with Bayern was the main reason for him staying, but is still considering all his options for when his current deal expires, including a return to France.
"In my mind everything is possible," said Lizarazu. "To remain here, move abroad or come back to France.
"It is the first time I have been so close to the end of a contract. I feel more free and I have fun with this freedom.
"During my six years here, several times I had interesting propositions from other clubs, notably the one from Manchester at the start of last season.
"But each time my situation has encouraged me to think that Bayern was the best professional choice.
"I was not disappointed. Moreover there is the relationship with the coach, the main thing in my career.
"To have a good feeling with him is the key to any successful career. My contract will terminate in 2003.
"I just had a talk with Uli Hoeness and we will be having a meeting in December."
Lizarazu continued to defend the German league as one of the best in Europe, and also signalled his intent to continue with France until the Euro 2004 finals.
"Bundesliga is at least as good as English, Spanish and Italian leagues.
"Let's stop the cliches about the cold weather, it is not worse than in England. To come here is the best decision I ever made in my career.
"I want to continue until Euro 2004, and terminate with a beautiful feat in the French team.
"I want to find again what we lost in Korea. Then, we will pass the baton. My motivation is complete.
"If not, I would have stopped after World Cup but it was out of the question.
"The French team is still exciting to me and to remain the best at my position in the French team is enormously motivating for me.
"Up to now, and until we found proof to the contrary, it is still the case."
