Papadopoulos strike earns Clarets point

BURNLEY got a late equaliser from Greek striker Dimitrios Papadopoulos to earn a 2-2 draw at managerless Ipswich Town.

The Portman Road side got off to a flying start two minutes in when John McGreal out-jumped everyone to head home a Mark Venus free-kick from the right to make it 1-0.

But The Clarets would soon equalise when Arthur Gnohere's downward header from a Glen Little corner on the right made it 1-1 after six minutes.

However a quarter of an hour in, Ipswich took the lead again when Darren Ambrose took a chip in Burnley's penalty on the chest and he hit a wonderful right-foot turn and volley into the far corner of Burnley's goal to restore the Suffolk side's advantage at the break.

The lead stayed until injury time at the end of the match when Papadopoulos stepped up with a late header to deny Town three points and keep the Turf Moor side in the top half of the Division One table.
