Wigan sign Edghill
WIGAN ATHLETIC have signed Richard Edghill on a non-contract basis after he impressed during a trial at The JJB Stadium.
The former Manchester City captain, who was released by the Maine Road outfit, will make his debut in the LDV Vans Trophy clash with Notts County.
"We've signed him on non-contract forms for now," confirmed Latics manager Paul Jewell. "And it gives him the chance to play and impress, and put himself in the shop window.
"We'll see how it goes and take things from there.
"We're going to give Richard a run-out, and it'll be good for us and him," he told Wigan's official website.
The full back was linked with a move to Portugal with Sporting Lisbon in some quarters last week.
