Real pay first Ronaldo fee
REAL MADRID have headed off any potential Fifa intervention by paying the first instalment of Ronaldo`s transfer fee to Internazionale.
Inter president Massimo Moratti revealed earlier in the week that Real had missed the deadline for the first payment, and would seek intervention from Fifa.
Moratti also threatened to demand the return of Ronaldo to the Giuseppe Meazza, if Real stalled, but the Spaniards have now released the first payment.
Real completed the international money transfer on Wednesday afternoon, with a payment of é¼8 million (£5 million) sent to Italy.
The second instalment is due next September, and it remains to be seen if the transaction is carried out smoothly.
