Wrexham trio in car crash

THREE Wrexham players were involved in a car crash on Friday as they travelled to training at Collier Park.

Former Liverpool man Lee Jones was the driver, with Mark Duffy and Joe Feeney passengers, and the striker veered the car off the road causing serious damage to the vehicle in the process.

"We don't have too many details yet," said Denis Smith.

"But the main thing is that all three are ok, save for some cuts and bruises.

"Mark Duffy has a few cuts, while Joe Feeney seems to have escaped lightly. Lee took a few knocks and is now heading home to recover.

"At this stage I would say he's highly unlikely to be involved in tomorrow's (Saturday) game. As he's going to feel rather stiff in the morning, not to mention any after effects he might suffer from the shock.

"As I say though, the main thing is that all three are alive and will get over it. The same might not be said for Lee's car, but that's the last thing they have to worry about at the moment."
