Hankin injury blow

TORQUAY UNITED'S promotion hopes have suffered a setback after Sean Hankin was ruled out for at least six weeks.

Hankin requires an operation to remove a blood clot from his leg and a comeback date has not yet been suggested.

Gulls boss Leroy Rosenior revealed there was little option but to send the defender for an operation to cure the problem.

"We thought it was a dead leg but he's actually got a haematoma, which is 2cm by 8cm long and it's very close to the bone," said Rosenior.

"To let it heal would take months to be honest, so he needs to have an operation to release the blood."
