Kahn faces fine over nightclub visit

BAYERN MUNICH will fine German international custodian Oliver Kahn for visiting a nightclub until the early hours of the morning when he was meant to be recouperating.   

Kahn picked up a thigh injury after falling awkwardly in the Champions League match with Deportivo La Coruna and coach Ottmar Hitzfeld is furious that the 33-year-old was not resting in a bid to be fit for the first team.     

"There is difference between playing golf and going to a club. That is why he will be getting a fine," said Hitzfeld.

"When you are recovering from injury you have to do everything to get fit again. Going to a club is not required."

Kahn was reportedly at a Karlsruhe club until 5.30 a.m on Saturday morning despite nursing a thigh injury  

Stefan Wessels deputised for Kahn in Saturday's 3-3 draw with Hannover.
