Besiktas to sign Tayfun

Tayfun has spent over two years in La Liga but is ready to return to Turkey.

The German-born Turkish international was previously on the books of Fenerbahce before moving to Sociedad.

The Spanish club's president Jose Luis Astiranza met his Besiktas counterpart Sedar Bilgili to thrash out the finer details of the transfer.

Tayfun was being chased by a triumvirate of Spanish clubs but preferred to head back to Turkey.

"Rayo Vallecano and two other Spanish clubs wanted me," said Tayfun. "But I preferred Besiktas. I'm ready to wear the Besiktas uniform."

Besiktas coach Mircea Lucescu is confident Tayfun will prove a valuable acquisition.

Lucescu said: "I have watched Tayfun before. I like his football. I think Tayfun will be useful for our team."
